In todays fast moving tech world I deeply feel that there is lack of physical activities for all age groups especially children who are considered to be the nations future. In schools we mostly have 1 sports period in a week which itself shows the priority which is given to the subject. Although sports academies are available in metros or some big cities but the same are not easily accessible to all and are too expensive for middle class to bear the burden along with the hefty school fees. We dont even have proper cycling tracks along the roadside as available in the European nations. If that had been so it would have improved physical health as well as helped in combating pollution. Even for the elderly people I feel they have lower physical fitness level as compared to their European or foreign counterparts. I am seeing my grandparents facing multiple Health issues after their 50s. I attribute this mainly to the lifestyle, stress levels and societal norms where seperate priorities are set for elders especially womans and their physical fitness is not even talked about in families more particularly in lower middle class. I concur with the opinion that health is wealth and all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Hence I feel that lower fitness level is a major challenge faced by us today.
