India is the worlds second-largest producer of grains, yet we lose nearly 10% of our harvest—worth thousands of crores—due to poor storage conditions. In local village granaries and small warehouses, grains are stored in bags where moisture and heat build up silently., By the time a human notices the smell or fungus, the entire batch is ruined. There is currently no low-cost, real-time way for small-scale farmers or local storekeepers to "see" inside the grain piles to monitor the health of the crop. This leads to massive food loss and financial debt for farmers.
