The idea of developing the Smart Ration Distribution System came from observing real-life problems in rural and semi-urban areas, where ration distribution is mostly manual and lacks transparency. Many beneficiaries do not receive their full entitled quantity due to issues like incorrect weight measurement, manipulation by shopkeepers, and lack of proper monitoring. During interactions with local people, I found that there is no reliable system to verify whether the correct person is receiving the ration or if the distribution process is fair.Another major challenge is poor record management. Most ration shops still maintain manual registers, which can be easily altered or damaged. There is no real-time data available for authorities, making it difficult to track distribution and ensure accountability. This increases the chances of corruption, errors, and inefficiency in the system. To solve these problems, I decided to design a smart and automated model using my interest in electronics and technology. The system uses RFID card verification to ensure that only authorized users can access the ration. A display unit shows user details and ration quantity in real time, increasing transparency. The model also includes digital data storage using an SD card and sends SMS notifications to registered mobile numbers after each transaction. This system reduces human interference, improves accuracy, and ensures fair distribution. It aims to make the ration system more transparent, efficient, and reliable. Overall, this project is a step towards using technology to solve real-world problems and create a better and corruption-free distribution system.
