🧠 Problem Title: The Classroom Blindspot: Rapid Eyesight Degradation in High School Students Preparing for Competitive Exams
📝 Problem Description

Across India, students starting their heavy academic prep for boards, JEE, NEET, and Olympiads are destroying their eyesight. We are expected to study for 10 to 14 hours a day, constantly staring at textbooks, coaching modules, or screens at a very close distance. Because the entire focus is on scoring marks, there is zero awareness or enforcement of ergonomic breaks or the 20-20-20 rule., In a typical 10th-grade classroom, more than half the students wear thick glasses, and their prescriptions keep getting worse every year. Once a student gets myopia (nearsightedness), it usually progresses rapidly during these high-stress study years. The motivation is to stop treating bad eyesight as a "normal" part of being a good student. We are sacrificing our long-term physical health just to clear entrance exams., Frequency and Scale:, This happens daily. The damage is slow but constant. Every hour spent hunched over a desk without proper lighting or distance management contributes to permanent eye shape changes., Financial and Health Risks:, Health Impact: Severe myopia isnt just about wearing glasses; it increases the risk of retinal detachment and glaucoma later in life., Financial Drain: Families spend thousands of rupees every year constantly updating lens prescriptions, buying new frames, and eventually paying lakhs for surgeries like LASIK down the line., Productivity Loss: Eye strain leads to severe headaches, dry eyes, and fatigue, which actually ruins study focus and mental health., Conclusion:, The problem is the complete lack of physical health monitoring in the Indian academic grind. We track our mock test scores every week, but we completely ignore the daily degradation of our vision until its too late.
