I have observed Vacant residential and commercial plots in urban areas are increasingly being used as unofficial dumping grounds. This issue stems from a combination of factors: the lack of boundary walls by plot owners, irregular municipal waste collection, and a lack of public accountability., Over time, these plots accumulate household waste, plastic, and construction debris. This creates a "mini-landfill" in the heart of residential colonies. These areas become breeding grounds for disease-carrying vectors like mosquitoes and rodents, leading to outbreaks of Dengue and Malaria. Furthermore, the decomposition of organic waste produces a persistent foul odor and leaches harmful chemicals into the soil, potentially contaminating groundwater. The presence of open garbage also attracts stray animals, creating safety hazards for pedestrians and children playing nearby.
