Many citizens, especially first-time internet users, lack awareness of digital safety. Victims often lose life savings within minutes, and recovery is rare due to delayed reporting and weak enforcement coordination. Fraudsters exploit trust, language barriers, and lack of cyber literacy. The psychological impact includes fear of using digital services, reducing trust in digital India initiatives.
