Wrong-side driving is a common traffic violation that significantly increases the risk of road accidents, injuries, and fatalities. This issue is especially prevalent on one-way roads, highways, and narrow urban streets where drivers ignore traffic rules due to negligence, lack of awareness, or intent to take shortcuts. Traditional traffic monitoring systems rely heavily on manual supervision by traffic police or fixed CCTV cameras, which may not always be actively monitored in real time., As a result, many violations go unnoticed, reducing accountability and encouraging repeated offenses. Additionally, collecting evidence manually is time-consuming and inefficient, making it difficult for authorities to take prompt action against offenders., There is a need for a smart, automated, and cost-effective solution that can detect wrong-side driving in real time, capture photographic evidence of the violating vehicle, and immediately notify authorities. Such a system should operate with minimal human intervention, be easy to deploy, and utilize modern IoT technology., This project aims to address the problem by developing an ESP32-CAM-based system that automatically detects vehicles moving in the wrong direction, captures their images, and sends them to a designated email address. This will help improve traffic law enforcement, reduce accidents, and promote safer road usage.
