In India, kite flying is a huge tradition. But there is a big problem as many people use Chinese Manja instead of plain cotton thread. It is a synthetic string coated with glass particles. It is so strong that it doesnt break easily, and it acts like a sharp, invisible saw causing threat to humans and aerial birds., The biggest issue is that this thread never disappears. When a kite is cut, the string falls and gets stuck in trees, hanging over roads, or tangled in the electricity lines. Because it is made of plastic, it doesnt rot or melt in the rain. Since it is very thin, people traveling on bikes cant see it until its too late., I want to solve this issue because these accidents shouldnt be happening. We should be able to enjoy our festivals like Sankranti and Uttarayan without people getting hurt. We need to find a way to keep our traditions alive while keeping everyone and every bird safe., It happens mostly in big cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, and Ahmedabad. The danger is highest in January and August when the sky is full of kites., It is very scary that people on scooters are at risk because the string can cut them while they are riding. It is also a disaster for birds. Aerial birds like pigeons and owls get their wings caught in the string and cant fly, often losing their wings or dying because they cant get free. It can also damage cars and bikes.
