Poor hygiene, improper storage conditions and high temperatures increase the chances of migration of plastic packaging, inks from printing, and coatings from packaging materials into food when stored for a long time. Torn packaging also allows moisture and bacteria to enter. All this results in contamination of food packets that can lead to infections.
