🧠 Problem Title: Democracy and Hunger: Why Millions Still Struggle for Food in a Developing World
📝 Problem Description

Hunger remains a major global problem even in democratic countries like India. Democracy gives citizens equal rights and freedom, but many people still suffer due to poverty, unemployment, corruption, and unequal distribution of resources. Millions of families do not have access to nutritious food, clean water, proper healthcare, and stable income. Children, farmers, daily wage workers, and people living in rural and slum areas are the most affected.
In India, rising inflation, unemployment, and low agricultural income make it difficult for poor families to afford basic food items. Farmers face crop failures, debt, and climate-related problems such as droughts and floods. At the same time, food wastage and corruption in distribution systems prevent resources from reaching needy people. Government welfare schemes exist, but lack of awareness and improper implementation reduce their impact.
Globally, wars, political instability, natural disasters, and climate change also increase hunger and malnutrition. Many countries produce enough food, yet unequal distribution and economic inequality leave millions starving. Hunger affects health, education, productivity, and overall development of society. It increases child mortality, weakens the workforce, and slows national progress.
This problem shows that democracy alone cannot remove hunger unless governments, organizations, and citizens work together effectively. Proper policy implementation, employment opportunities, farmer support, food security programs, and reduction of food wastage are necessary to solve this issue. Ensuring equal access to food and resources is essential for building a healthy and developed society.
