🧠 Problem Title: Unnoticed emptying of Intravenous (IV) fluid bags in understaffed public hospital wards causing dangerous blood backflow.
📝 Problem Description

In crowded government hospitals, nurses manage dozens of patients simultaneously. Often, when an IV drip finishes, there is no one around to immediately clamp the tube. This leads to reverse pressure, causing the patients blood to flow back up the IV tube. Why address this: This causes panic among patients, risk of clot formation, and requires painful re-insertion of the needle. Motivation: To improve patient care in resource-limited settings without adding to the workload of overtaxed nurses. Where/Frequency: Daily in almost all busy public hospital wards. Student Innovation relevance: High school students can design simple, low-cost mechanical fluid-level detectors, gravity-based auto-clamps, or spring-loaded clips that automatically shut off the tube when the bags weight drops below a certain threshold—requiring no electricity or complex coding.
