Classroom desks and chairs are widely used in schools, coaching centers, and educational institutions for long study hours. However, it is often observed that furniture dimensions are standardized without considering differences in student height, posture, and physical comfort.
In many situations, students may sit with unsupported feet, bent posture, strained backs, or uncomfortable arm positions for extended periods during classes. Long-term use of poorly matched furniture may create discomfort, fatigue, and posture-related stress.
I have observed classroom environments where students of different heights use the same furniture design despite noticeable differences in seating comfort and body alignment. In some cases, smaller students may sit with feet hanging above the floor or larger students may struggle with limited desk space.
This problem highlights the importance of ergonomic design in educational environments. Better furniture planning and student-friendly seating arrangements may help improve comfort, posture, and learning conditions.
