Modern buildings often use large glass windows and reflective facades for aesthetic and architectural purposes. However, it is often observed that birds are unable to distinguish reflections in glass from open sky, trees, or natural habitats.
In many situations, birds flying through urban areas may mistake reflected images for real environments and collide with glass surfaces at high speed. Such collisions can result in injuries or death and may affect local bird populations.
I have observed that highly reflective glass buildings and structures can create visual illusions for birds, especially in areas with nearby trees, parks, and green spaces. Since birds do not perceive glass in the same way humans do, transparent and reflective surfaces may become unintended hazards.
This problem highlights the need for wildlife-friendly building design and greater awareness of the impact of urban infrastructure on biodiversity.
