Pollution is common in our country and it’s a long battle to fight with it. Sometimes avoiding the fight is a much better option than actually fighting it. Most of the pollution may be it land,water or air ,the main reason always being plastics. But focusing on one thing has diverted us from other things which are also responsible for it. The other thing is plastic which is biodegradable by nature but also a major contributor in pollution i.e.,textile. Many countries produce large quantities of textile and sell them but consumers get fed up by clothes after once or twice use them.Sometimes these countries sell these used textile lumps to large populated and low economy countries like-India. India is the largest importer of these used textiles and sells these clothes to consumers at a low price.After sometime,people throw the clothes to garbage.After being biodegradable material, the textile waste takes much longer time and energy to decompose than other biodegradable waste. Its decomposition time makes it nearly equivalent to plastic and damages the ecosystem in equal manner by damaging land,water and sometimes clothes releases toxic fumes on burning as they contain synthetic materials also. The toxic fumes release toxic gases like carbon monoxide, cyanide, and sulfur dioxide, which can lead to breathing issues, long-term lung damage and severe poisoning. Additionally, these fumes create acidic residue that causes long-term corrosion and toxic odors in textiles and surrounding areas.
