In recent times, many bus accidents have been happening in India, especially in states like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. In most cases, when a bus accident occurs, fires start spreading within seconds. Because there are no proper safety facilities or emergency exits, passengers are unable to escape and many lose their lives on the spot.
For example, in sleeper buses, people are usually sleeping at night. If an accident happens and a fire breaks out, there is often no immediate warning signal. Passengers are in deep sleep and do not even understand what is happening at first. By the time they realize the situation and try to escape, they get trapped in the fire and many die.
Many of the victims are the main earning members of their families. For instance, imagine a married couple who have two young daughters. The father works in Hyderabad while the family lives in Kadapa. If he is returning home by bus and meets with an accident where he gets trapped in a fire and dies, then the entire family suddenly loses its support. The wife and children are left helpless and the family’s future becomes uncertain.
In another example, elderly parents depend on their son who travels from one city to another for work. If he dies in a bus fire accident while traveling, the elderly parents are left without care and support. Since they are already weak and dependent, they suffer greatly.
In this way, bus accidents are causing a large number of deaths, and families are being severely affected. Along with the loss of lives, the government also faces huge financial losses during rescue operations. However, even with all efforts, only a few passengers are able to escape, while many others get trapped and die in the fire.
