Key Problems for Older Vehicles
1.Corrosion & Rust: Ethanol is a solvent and attracts moisture. In older fuel systems, it can corrode metal parts and cause the fuel tank to rust.
2.Degradation of Rubber and Plastic: Ethanol can degrade older rubber seals, fuel lines, gaskets, and plastic components, leading to leaks or premature wear.
3.Reduced Mileage: Because ethanol has a lower energy density than pure petrol, older engines may experience a drop in fuel efficiency (typically around 8–12%).
