🧠 Problem Title: Athlete health risks due to poor hygiene practices and shared use of Sports Protective Equipment Gear
📝 Problem Description

Athletes in schools, academies, and sports camps regularly use protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, shin guards, skating pads, chest protectors, and elbow or knee guards. During intense training sessions and competitions, these items absorb large amounts of sweat and moisture. However, due to limited time between practice sessions, inadequate storage facilities, or lack of awareness regarding equipment hygiene, the gear is often reused while still damp and unclean.
Warm, dark, and moist conditions inside sports equipment create an ideal environment for the growth of fungi, bacteria, and other microorganisms. Repeated exposure to contaminated gear can lead to various health issues, including fungal infections such as athletes foot and ringworm, skin rashes, itching, irritation, unpleasant odour, and general discomfort. In some cases, untreated infections may worsen, affecting an athletes performance, confidence, and ability to participate in training or competitions.
Young athletes are particularly vulnerable because they frequently share facilities, train in close contact with others, and may not prioritize equipment maintenance. Coaches and institutions often focus on physical training and performance while overlooking the importance of proper gear sanitization practices. Existing cleaning methods, such as hand washing, sun drying, or occasional disinfection, are time-consuming, inconsistent, and not always effective in eliminating harmful microorganisms.
The lack of a convenient, quick, and reliable solution for drying and sanitizing sports equipment highlights a significant gap in athlete health and safety. Addressing this issue is essential not only to prevent infections and improve hygiene but also to promote overall well-being, enhance comfort, extend the lifespan of sports gear, and support consistent athletic participation.
