One of the major concerns regarding the current reservation system is the difference in opportunities available to students from different categories. For example, an SC/ST candidate may be able to secure a government MBBS seat with a lower NEET score, whereas an OC (Open Category) candidate often needs a much higher score, sometimes 620+ marks, to get a similar seat. Achieving such a high score is extremely challenging and requires intense competition. As a result, many OC students feel that despite working very hard and scoring reasonably well, they may still miss out on opportunities that are available to others with lower scores. This situation causes frustration and stress among many students, who feel that merit and effort should also be given significant importance while ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society.
