The number of submissions as well as quality of submissions in response to this TLM competition are very poor. After initial screening by the Jury, just a handful of projects were qualified for further evaluation which is in single digit. Hence, the Jury decided to wrap up the competition giving away Appreciation Awards to the qualified projects (A Digital Certificate & Rs. 1,000 gift voucher). Compliments to the participant teachers as well as the Awardees.
All the TLM Project Videos of the above submissions would soon be available on GYS YouTube Channel. Awardees would receive Certificates and Gift Vouchers by email by mid October.

About the Competition
GYS Guru Puraskar 2023 is a National Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) Competition for Working School Teachers. The objective is to identify and promote innovative ways of teaching that improve learning and make it fun for students.
This competition is Totally Online.
Projects are submitted in Video Format and submitted via Google Form. Do read Competition Terms & Conditions as well as Project Submission Format below. We have given even the Evaluation Criteria to help you present a winning Project.
The selection process involves two phases.
- Phase 1 - Submission of Video
- Phase 2 - Online Demonstration
In Phase 1, a Panel of esteemed Judges reviews the projects submitted online and would Shortlist 32 Entries into Phase 2.
In Phase 2, Teachers present their TLM Projects online to another Panel of esteemed Judges. They Select 8 Winners.
Theme for 2023:
- Teaching a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Subject OR
- Grooming Innovation: Any model which enhances creativity or innovative ability of students

- First Prize: Rs. 15,000 cash award, a Print Certificate, a Trophy

- Consolation Prize 1: Rs. 1,000 cash award and a Print Certificate

Competition Terms & Conditions
- TLM should be helpful in teaching 6th to 12th students.
- TLM should be low-cost (maximum budget ₹3,000) and easily replicable.
- Language for submission is English or Hindi.
- TLM has to be created and presented by ONE individual teacher only.
- Any working teacher from a Government or Private school teaching 6th to 12th students can participate.
- All participants will be provided with an e-certificate.
- GETA will not use the submitted entry for commercial purposes. However, it may be used on GETA portals, social media pages, and collaterals.
- If the TLM was already selected/exhibited at a State-level event previously, then it should not be submitted in this competition. However, if it was previously presented at School, Mandal, or up to District level only, then it may be submitted.
- There is NO ENTRY FEE to participate in this Competition.
- Competition schedule and announcements are published on GYS Guru Puraskar website.
- Evaluation or disqualification of TLM Projects will be done by a Panel of Educators and Eminent Personalities. Decision of the Panel would be final.
- Results will be published on GYS Guru Puraskar website. Winners will be intimated via phone and/or email.
Project Submission Format
- TLM Project submission is online and is primarily in Video Format. However, details of TLM in the Submission Form along with a few photos of the TLM are important too.
- Minimum length of the Project Video is 3 minutes, maximum length is 7 minutes.
- Mazimum size of the Project Video is 100 MB.
- You can submit only one Project Video.
- Video background MUST show GYS Guru Puraskar 2023. This is to make sure that this video is taken for this Competition, not borrowed from somewhere.
- Video must explain practical usage of TLM for students, NOT how it is made.
- A cover page, titles, and a last page are encouraged in the video. They would carry weightage in evaluation.
- You would get an email acknowledgement if the submission is successful. If you do not get that email by end of next working day, contact 9966775534.
Evaluation Criteria
Qualified TLM Submissions would be evaluated as per the criteria below. This information should help Teachers to submit with maximum conformance to Competition Terms & Conditions and improve chances of Winning. Our intent in giving this guidance is to raise the standards of Project Submissions.
- 20 Points = Originality and Authenticity of the TLM Idea
- 40 Points = Problem Clarity, Creativity in Design, Effectiveness of TLM
- 20 Points = Ease of Use, Replicability, Costs
- 20 Points = Quality of Submission & Judges Overall Impression
