we are extending the last date for Swaminathan SDC 2026 submissions until 25-February-2026.

About the Competitions
Competition Category: 1. Skits, 2. Shorts, 3. Poster Presentation, 4. Photography
Theme: An Indian Invention/Scientist (or) a Science & Technology Concept
Eligibility: High School Students (Grades 6 to 12). There is NO ENTRY FEE to participate in this Competition.
Submission Mode: Online, via Telegram Group (t.me/GYS_Contests)
Language: English or any Indian Language
Awards: Mementos, Certificates and Total Cash Awards of Rs. 65,000/-
GYS Logos: Contestants may download and
include in their videos or images when they submit their entries.
Competition Terms & Conditions
1. Skits
- The video length should be 10 minutes (+/- 3 minutes).
- The video must be recorded in horizontal (landscape) orientation. The video must have titles at the beginning and/or at the end, as appropriate.
- The skit must be performed by a group; There is no restriction on the number of participants. Solo performances will not be accepted.
- The submission should be made in the name of the group leader.
- A guide teacher may participate in the skit, if required, only to motivate and support students. However it must be in a supporting role only, not a primary role.
- There is no separate Senior or Junior category for this competition.
- Only one memento and one certificate will be awarded per entry. Prize will be given to the group leader on behalf of the team.
Evaluation Criteria (100 Marks)
- Title & Relevance to Theme - 10 Marks
- Comprehensiveness/Content/Length - 50 Marks
- Video Making Skill - 25 Marks
- Submission Quality - 5 Marks
- Judges' Overall Impression - 10 Marks
2. Shorts / Reels
- Length of the short / reel should be 50 Seconds to 60 Seconds.
- The video must be recorded in vertical (portrait) orientation. The video must have titles at the beginning and/or at the end, as appropriate.
Evaluation Criteria (100 Marks)
- Title - 10 Marks
- Relevance to Theme - 10 Marks
- Comprehensiveness - 40 Marks
- Video Making Skill - 20 Marks
- Submission Quality - 10 Marks
- Judges' Overall Impression - 10 Marks
3. Poster Presentation
- Prepare a Poster on A3 Size Drawing Sheet (297mm x 420mm)
- Write down your details on the right corner of the Poster.
- You should prepare a poster manually, not by AI / GPT Tools.
- Each student should submit two photographs of Poster.
- One photo of the poster should be taken using a regular camera.
- The Second photo of the poster should be taken using GPS Map Camera: Geo Tagging (Download the app if needed).
This photo should include the Date, Time and Location (Lat / Long) details.
- Upload both photos as one entry.
Evaluation Criteria (100 Marks)
- Title - 10 Marks
- Relevance to Theme - 10 Marks
- Comprehensiveness - 40 Marks
- Drawing Skill - 20 Marks
- Submission Quality - 10 Marks
- Judges' Overall Impression - 10 Marks
4. Photography
- All photographs must be original and taken on or after 1st January 2026. Do not downlaod or copy from Internet.
- Upload a photo in minimum size of 1920x1080 pixels. Upload as JPG / JPEG.
- Each student should submit two copies of the photo:
- The photo should be taken using a regular camera.
- The same photo should also be taken using GPS Map Camera: Geo Tagging (Download the app if needed).
This photo should include the Date, Time and Location (Lat / Long) details.
- Upload both photos as one entry.
- A caption is mandatory, with a maximum of 8 words.
- The narration/description of the photograph must not exceed 100 words.

- Title - 10 Marks
- Relevance to Theme - 20 Marks
- Shooting Skill, Frame, Angle - 50 Marks
- Submission Quality - 10 Marks
- Judges' Overall Impression - 10 Marks
Common and applicable to all...
- The entry must reflect that it was made for GYS Swaminathan Science Day Contests 2026 in terms of Background or by a
thumbnail. This is to eliminate the possibility of old videos being dumped in this competition. Plese use the above Logos link to download.
- We encourage new talent. If the entry was already selected/exhibited at a State-level event previously, then it should not be submitted in this competition.
- Evaluation or disqualification of entries will be done by a Panel of Educators and Eminent Personalities. Decision of the Panel would be final.
- Prizes announced are subjected to a minimum of 100 qualified entries in each category for a reasonable competition level. If less, the number of Awards
in the respective category may be reduced. Decision of the Panel would be final.
- Results will be published on this website. Winners will be intimated via phone.
- Winners would be announced in a virtual (Online) Ceremony. Prizes and Cash Vouchers would be delievered to Winners by Courier.
There is no need to travel to a Venue for Prizes Distribution. However, if there is an opportunity for a physical ceremony, you will be intimated in advance..
- Students whose entries qualified for evaluation would receive a Participation Certificate by email.
